Privacy Policy

Effective June 9, 2026

Kiwied (“we”, “us”) is a photo-first nutrition and fitness app that lets you log meals and workouts, see trends, and share your progress. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Your use of Kiwied is also governed by our Terms of Service. Questions? Email privacy@kiwied.com.

Information we collect

  • Account information - your email address, name, and a user identifier, via email/password or Sign in with Google or Apple.
  • Health & fitness data - workouts and active/total energy you choose to sync from Apple Health.
  • Meal photos you add to log or illustrate meals.
  • Food and meal logs you create, including descriptions and nutrition estimates.
  • Usage data - in-app events (for example, that a meal or workout was logged) to understand feature usage.
  • Device and log data - basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

To provide and improve the app’s logging, trends, and nutrition features; to authenticate you; to estimate nutrition from the meals you log; and to keep the service secure.

Sharing your progress

Kiwied lets you turn a meal or workout into a share card that you can export and post to other networks, such as Instagram. Sharing is something you choose to do, post by post - Kiwied does not currently have a public in-app feed, and your logs are private to your account unless you export and post them yourself. Anything you share outside Kiwied is governed by that network’s own terms and privacy policy.

AI processing

When you log a meal by text or photo, that content is sent to Anthropic to estimate nutrition, and (for the optional share-photo feature) to OpenAI to enhance the image. This processing exists solely to provide the feature; the content is not used to train those providers’ models.

Apple Health

Health and fitness data you sync is used only to show your calorie and workout information inside Kiwied. It is never used for advertising and is never shared with third parties for advertising or data-mining.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run Kiwied: Vercel (hosting and photo storage), Neon (database), Google and Apple (sign-in), and SprayPulse (our own product analytics). We do not sell your data.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies that are needed to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies, so Kiwied does not require a cookie-consent banner. Our analytics are collected on our own servers, not through tracking cookies in your browser.

International data transfers

We and our service providers (including Anthropic and OpenAI) operate in the United States, so your information may be processed there and in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers. By using Kiwied you understand your data may be processed outside your country of residence.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your meals, workouts, photos, and account record.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Kiwied is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information from within the app, or by emailing privacy@kiwied.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
